It kinda creeps me out that the man responsible for stabbing two people downtown was in my store a week before the attack. While in my store he did some pretty inappropriate things and made everyone incredibly uncomfortable. After an hour and a half I finally managed to kick him out (then the cops showed up... great timing). The whole thing gives me chills.

Man sought in downtown stabbings

Police are seeking a bald Hispanic man with a star tattoo under his left eye, whose first name may be Israel, for questioning in connection with the stabbing of two members of the Austin band Amplified Heat outside the Red Eyed Fly club early Friday morning at Red River and East Eighth streets.

The victims, brothers Chris and Gian Ortiz, were not seriously injured by the attacker, who they did not know, according to a friend, Karen Raymond. "He just started yelling at them from across the street," she said.

Austin police spokeswoman Laura Albrecht asked anyone with information about the attack or the whereabouts of the attacker to call the CrimeStoppers tip line at 472-8477.
